Qual é a diferença entre os formatos de data americano e britânico?

Nos EUA escreve-se o mês primeiro: June 18, 2026 ou 06/18/2026. No inglês britânico vem o dia primeiro: 18 June 2026 ou 18/06/2026. Para audiências internacionais, escreva o nome do mês por extenso (18 June 2026) ou use o formato ISO 8601 (2026-06-18) para evitar confusão.

Como se dizem números grandes como 1.500.000 em inglês?

Diz-se "one million five hundred thousand". Na fala também se usa "one point five million". Importante: "million" nunca leva -s após um numeral — diz-se "five million", não "five millions". Usa-se "millions of" apenas sem número específico.

Quando usar "a half" em vez de "one half"?

"A half" é a escolha informal do dia a dia: "give me a half portion". "One half" é mais preciso e comum em receitas, estatísticas e escrita acadêmica. Ambas as formas são corretas; o contexto determina qual soa mais natural.
